On Friday, Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed the country's concern regarding recent shelling at the border with Syria, which led to the deaths of Iranian citizens. Iran blames the Israeli military for the attacks. "Iraq condemns any violations of Syria's sovereignty, especially if they lead to the deaths of civilians," Hussein stated. The minister also added that these incidents underline the necessity to strictly adhere to the principles of international law and to prevent the use of another state's territory for aggression. "Iraq expresses its deep concern about the possibility of escalating tensions in the region," Hussein emphasized. He also noted that all parties involved must strive for conflict resolution through diplomatic methods and based on dialogue, with the aim of ensuring peace and stability in the region.
