The administrative board of the Iraqi Al-Qasim Sporting Club has agreed with coach Qasim Munir to lead its first football team in the matches of the Iraqi Stars League this season, replacing the former coach, Munid Munir, who resigned after the second round of the competition. Qasim Munir has previously coached Al-Qasim in past seasons and was among the coaches who contributed to the team's retention in the Stars League. Al-Qasim is going through an unusual season this year, making the task of the new-old coach, Qasim Munir, extremely difficult. The team currently sits at the bottom of the Iraqi Stars League table with only one point, having lost five matches and drawn just one. Additionally, the team is banned from registering players for two periods.
