Baghdad: Iraq national football team defender Mitham Jabbar suffered a minor muscle strain during a training session ahead of the quarter-final match against Jordan in the ongoing Arab Cup in Qatar, scheduled for Friday. Sources within the Iraqi national team stated that "there is a possibility that player Mitham Jabbar may not be able to participate in the match, which has increased the concern of the Iraqi public due to the numerous injuries sustained by the 'Lions of the Euphrates' players in the ongoing Arab Cup in Qatar." Some attribute this to the frequent postponements of matches in the Iraqi Stars League. Previously, players Jalal Hassan, Mahdi Ali (Mimi), Aymen Hussein, and Akam Hashem had also been injured.
