Informed sources have stated that the Iraqi Football Association is beginning to consider making crucial decisions regarding some of its competitions for the 2025-2026 season. The reason is to find an ideal way to prepare the 'Lions of the Tigris' national team for the playoff match for the 2026 World Cup. This match will be held on April 1st of next year between the Iraqi national football team and the winner of the match between the Bolivia and Suriname national teams. Sources confirmed that the Iraqi Football Association has become fully certain that it will not be able to manage the affairs of the Iraqi Stars League football competition for the current season according to its current protocols, as there have been many stoppages for the competition in recent weeks.
