Egyptian coach Imad Al-Nahas, head of the Al-Zawraa football team in the Iraqi Premier League, has warned that players on the Iraqi national football team may face injuries before the World Cup 2026 playoff match scheduled for April 1st. The coach stated that the current packed schedule of league matches leads to frequent player injuries. Al-Nahas added: «I warn the organizers of the Iraqi football league. If the matches continue in this compressed format, it will lead to an increase in player injuries and a lack of readiness for the Iraqi national team for the World Cup 2026 playoff».
