Iraq Coach Calls to Postpone World Cup Playoff Amid Conflict

Australian coach Graham Arnold, who currently manages the Iraqi national football team, has called for this month's intercontinental World Cup playoff match to be postponed. This request comes amid severe travel disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Iraqi officials are deeply concerned that due to strict travel restrictions in the Middle East, they will be unable to transport their players and staff to Mexico. They are scheduled to face either Bolivia or Suriname in the city of Monterrey on March 31.

Speaking from his home in the United Arab Emirates to the Associated Press news agency, Arnold highlighted the critical nature of the upcoming fixture.

"We won't have our optimal squad, and we need the best available team to play in the country's most important match in 40 years."
