The match, held at 'Zawraa' stadium in the capital Baghdad, was part of the 22nd round of the competition. The victory boosted the Students' points to 43, keeping them in third place. Meanwhile, the Electricity team's points remained frozen at 21, keeping them in 16th place. The Students' goals were scored by Karim Areebi and Karar Saad in the 42nd and 52nd minutes, respectively. The Electricity's only goal was scored by player Nahad Mohammed in the 49th minute. In another match, the Noruz team returned to the path of victory by defeating their hosts, the Amn Baghdad team, 2-0 at 'Captain Sherar Haidar' stadium.
