Baghdad: The coaching staff of Dutch club Utrecht has decided to recall Iraqi national team player Zidan Iqbal to the first team. The player had been demoted to the reserve team as a disciplinary punishment for participating with the Iraqi national team in the Asian qualifying play-off matches for the World Cup. Zidan Iqbal handled the punishment with a high degree of professionalism, stating immediately after the decision was announced: "I respect the coach's decision, but sometimes we need to agree to disagree." The player also added: "Utrecht club pays my salary, so I will play for any team they want me to play for."
