Baghdad: Adnan Darjal, President of the Iraqi Football Federation, revealed that the Iraqi national football team will hold a training camp in Mexico or one of its neighboring countries in March next year. This camp aims to prepare the 'Lions of the Euphrates' for the World Cup 2026 playoff match. The Iraqi team will face the winner of the match between the Bolivia and Suriname teams on the morning of April 1st. Darjal stated that the Iraqi Football Federation will conduct intensive contacts with the administrations of the clubs where some players of the Iraqi national team play, especially professionals in European leagues, to allow them to join the training camp.
