The Executive Committee of the Iraqi Football Association has approved the roadmap proposed by the FIFA and Asian Football Confederations. It was decided to hold an extraordinary general meeting on May 23rd in Baghdad to elect a new Executive Committee for the Iraqi Football Association for the 2026-2030 term. According to the roadmap, the Election Committee of the Iraqi Football Association has opened nominations for the election of the Executive Committee in accordance with the statutes and election law. All candidates were required to submit a sports resume or a letter of support from a sports body to prove their experience and work.
