Iraq Security Issues Warning Ahead of Match

The channel "Al-Rabia" reported that Iraqi human rights organizations issued a warning to the referees ahead of the match between the Iraq national team and Jordan, which is scheduled for today, Thursday (at 7:15 PM Iraqi time, 8:15 PM UAE time) at the "Life Pen" stadium in Basra in the fourth round of the qualifying stage of the 2026 World Cup.

It is warned that all individuals without a match ticket and found near the stadium in Basra will be detained.

"The authorities instructed the security forces responsible for the external security of the stadium to strictly intervene in prevailing violence, as well as to detain anyone who intends to purchase a ticket and plans to enter the stadium to create chaos near the entrance."

The match has significant importance considering the competitive value of both teams and the prospects of advancing from the second qualifying group, especially given that the "Naglits" are in second place with 7 points and have an advantage in the number of goals over the "Lions of Mesopotamia," while the South Korean team leads the group with 10 points.
