
The manager of the communications with the community of Iernima UNESKO visited the great Nuri mosque in Mosul yesterday and praised the restoration of the heritage, noting that the works are nearing completion. "I am very glad to stand here before you and before the minaret, which is over 850 years old, and being here for me is a return of history and the identity of the heritage," said Iernima UNESKO.
She noted that the restoration of the minaret included the reintegration of about 45 thousand original details using traditional techniques with the aim of preserving historical authenticity and integrity, as preferred by the residents of Mosul.
