On Sunday, Iraqi Oil Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hiyan Abdul-Ghani al-Sawad, chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation steps for the crude oil pipeline project (Hadhitha - Baniyas).
The meeting focused on the practical measures required for the project, which aims to transport Iraqi oil to the Syrian Mediterranean port of Baniyas. Attendees reviewed the current progress and upcoming phases of the initiative.
This strategic project is crucial for Iraq as it provides a new export route for its crude oil and diversifies its energy export options.
