Iraqi authorities announced on Thursday morning that one crew member was killed in an attack on two oil tankers off the coast of Iraq. The nature of the attack has not yet been specified. Farhan al-Fartousi, Director General of the Iraqi Ports Company, stated that 'all crew members of the two tankers have been rescued'. He added that '51 individuals are in good condition, while only one person died and his body was recovered'. The Indian Embassy in Baghdad confirmed that the victim holds Indian citizenship and that 'the remaining 15 Indian crew members have been evacuated to a safe place'. The official Iraqi news channel 'Al-Iraqiya' broadcast footage of a vessel at sea, noting that some crew members received treatment for injuries.
