Strike in western Iraq kills nine

Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces announced on Thursday that nine people were killed and ten others injured in a strike in western Iraq near the Syrian border, as Iraqi authorities condemned "the systematic and repeated aggression". Two security officials had earlier said the strike targeted a headquarters of the "Ansar Allah Al-Awfiya" movement at a base belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces in the city of Al-Qaim in Anbar province. Since the start of the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, several strikes have targeted facilities of factions at bases belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces. One of them noted that "the headquarters was destroyed and rescue teams were also targeted upon their arrival".
