
On Sunday, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Muhammad Shia Sundani, chaired a meeting during which plans for marketing and grain procurement were discussed. The meeting, which was attended by the head of the government, gathered the Minister of Trade, the general director of the State Grain Trading Company, and representatives of several merchants.
During the meeting, plans from the Ministry of Trade for the upcoming marketing season were considered, mechanisms and prices for the purchase and sale of grain on the domestic market were discussed, as well as the possibility of exporting surplus grain in light of the interest from certain countries in its import, and the possibility of exporting other products from Iraq.
The Cabinet's bulletin of the Prime Minister noted: "The issue of state and private mills and their capabilities was also discussed at the meeting."
