According to information published by the International Monetary Fund, it is projected that the global economy will grow by 6% in 2021, which represents the highest indicator in the last 40 years. A specifically increased demand for goods and services has been a driving force for the recovery of the global economy after the COVID-19 pandemic, but at the same time, the IMF warned of the inequality of this growth between countries and sectors.
According to IMF head Kristalina Georgieva, "The world stands on the brink of a new era of economic growth, driven by vaccination, but we must not forget that at the same time significant inequality in access to vaccines and economic recovery continues." The IMF emphasized that in some developing countries the recovery will be slower than in developed countries, which may lead to increased disparities between them.
