Two people were killed, and 11 sustained injuries as a result of airstrikes, which were reportedly carried out by American forces, on a suburb in the evening. According to reports, the attacks occurred in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. Preliminary data suggests that the airstrikes were directed at ISIL militants.
No official comments from representatives of the American armed forces regarding this incident have yet been made. However, local authorities expressed concern over civilian casualties in the aftermath of these attacks. Human rights specialists also emphasized the need for an investigation to clarify all circumstances surrounding the event.
"We demand an immediate thorough investigation in connection with this case in order to establish facts and indicate those responsible for the deaths and injuries of innocent civilians," stated one of the representatives of civil society organizations in the region.
