The leader of the Iraqi government, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, announced on Friday the killing of the terrorist Abdel-Mahdi al-Maki, who held the position known as 'wali' of Iraq and Syria in the terrorist organization ISIS. According to the prime minister, the operation to eliminate Maki was carried out by the country's intelligence services in the Anbar province in western Iraq.

Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani emphasized that the elimination of Maki represents a serious blow to the terrorist organization and confirms the weakening of its capabilities in the region. The prime minister also called for international community support in the fight against terrorism, highlighting the importance of a unified stance of all countries in countering extremism and radicalism.

"We continue the fight against terrorism and ensure the safety of our citizens. The elimination of Maki is an important achievement on the path to establishing peace and stability in the region," emphasized Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani.
